Translations

Hello! I've noticed that the descriptions you're translating don't match the in-game descriptions (on the Артефакты and Рыба pages). Also, the name of the Pufferfish in-game is Рыба-eж, but you've translated it as Рыба фугу. Is there a particular reason for these deviations? Do you not have access to the data files? Is the Russian translation in-game really horrible? margotbean (обсуждение) 18:38, 12 мая 2017 (BST)

Answer to: "Translations"

Hey. I already asked Katzeus about how to learn the names of in-game items and he directed me on the topic on the forum, but I did not understand. If you tell me how to access the in-game names in Russian, I will correct my translation. And no, the transfer in the game at an excellent level and I gladly have already acquired a license and play. On the idea of "Fish fugu" is the closest relative "fish hedgehog", like I only learned on the Internet. But I'll fix it if I get access to the files.

Yes, I translate and do it with pleasure, although I speak English on a conditionally basic level. I translate and add some new and necessary words so that the average user immediately understands what is at stake.

I apologize if you did not write correctly. I have shortcomings in the translation from Russian to English. But this is not critical.

I'm glad to hear the Russian translation of the game is good!
The data files are located in the game directory, in Content\Data. They are saved with the extension ".xnb" You need to extract them, then you can open them in a text editor and read them.
Step 1 -- download xnb_node.0.2.2 at http://www.mediafire.com/file/fwg3p0rmp3q2v36/xnb_node.0.2.2.7z
Step 2 -- download XNBExtract at http://www.mediafire.com/file/4c0g0fk3tza384o/XNBExtract.zip
Step 3 -- Unzip the program from Step 2, and replace the contents of the "app" folder with the files downloaded in Step 1.
Step 4 -- Copy the contents of the Content\Data folder to the "PACKED" folder
Step 5 -- Double-click on "UNPACK FILES.bat"
Step 6 -- Open the "UNPACKED" folder, and there are the data files. They have the extension ".yaml", but they are text files, and can be opened with a good text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, etc.)
The Russian files all end with "ru-RU". Most of the names and descriptions are in "ObjectInformation.ru-RU.yaml" but some will be in other files (weapons, fish, monsters, etc.) You will see once you get them extracted.
I learned how to do this from this post on the forums: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/beginners-guide-to-xnb-node-and-graphics-editing.110976/
It's an old post, but it may help.
Just remember to make COPIES of files and don't overwrite your game files!!! :)
If you have any trouble, I will try to help. Just ask. If it's too confusing, I can post the data to a page on the wiki. You can copy it, then delete the page.
Welcome to the wiki!!  :) margotbean (обсуждение) 21:57, 12 мая 2017 (BST)

Thank you. Another possible request is not possible.

Could you move articles from the English wiki that are "very needed" on the Russian wiki? Or in general all 1000 articles on Russian wiki?

Please remember to sign your posts by typing ~~~~.
I'm afraid I have no idea what you're trying to say. Can you try again, please? margotbean (обсуждение) 23:11, 12 мая 2017 (BST)

Can you "copy" about 1000 articles on an English wiki and add it to the Russian wiki?

I could, but what does that have to do with extracting data files? margotbean (обсуждение) 00:00, 13 мая 2017 (BST)

No, not at all. I myself am getting tired of registering about 1000 articles and translating them.
